About Us
Dentists Who Care (DWC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dental charity dedicated to improving access to essential oral health care in the Rio Grande Valley. Since 1996, we have provided more than $11 million in donated dental services, helping over 30,000 individuals who otherwise could not afford
treatment.

We collaborate with Methodist Health Ministries Wesley Nurses, county clinics, school nurses, churches, community organizations, and local dental professionals to connect patients in need with compassionate, quality care.

How Volunteers Help

Many of our patients seek urgent dental care to relieve pain and address serious dental concerns. In addition to providing immediate treatment, volunteer dentists are asked to complete a comprehensive exam and develop a treatment plan. This allows Dentists Who Care to document outcomes for grant providers and identify any additional care needs.

 

When extended treatment is required, we help connect patients to supportive resources such as the TSTC Hygiene Clinic, Nuestra Clínica, and our scheduled clinic days. Through partnerships with local dental offices and the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry Mobile Dental Unit, we are able to bring vital dental services directly to underserved populations. These collaborations play a critical role in improving community oral health and expanding access to care.
